What is Custom Domain Email?

Custom domain email allows you to use your own domain name (like @yourcompany.com) instead of generic email services. This projects a professional image, builds brand recognition, and gives you complete control over your business communications.

Prerequisites

  • A registered domain name (from GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
  • Access to your domain's DNS settings
  • An active EmailService China account
  • About 24-48 hours for DNS propagation

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Purchase Your Domain (If Needed)

If you don't already have a domain, purchase one from a domain registrar. Popular options include:

  • GoDaddy.com - Global leader
  • Namecheap.com - Competitive pricing
  • Alibaba Cloud (万网) - Popular in China
  • Tencent Cloud DNSPod - Popular in China

Step 2: Log In to Your EmailService Account

After purchasing your plan, log in to the control panel and navigate to Domain Setup or Custom Domain section.

  1. Log in
  2. Go to Settings → Domain Management
  3. Click "Add Custom Domain"
  4. Enter your domain name (e.g., yourcompany.com)

Step 3: Configure DNS Records

Our support team will handle this for you automatically. If you need to do it manually, add these records in your domain registrar's DNS settings:

MX Records (Required)

  • Priority: 10 | Host: @ | Value: mail.xxxxxx.com

TXT Record (for SPF)

  • Host: @ | Value: v=spf1 include:mail.xxxxxx.com ~all

CNAME Record (Optional)

  • Host: mail | Value: mail.xxxxxx.com

Step 4: Wait for Propagation

DNS changes can take 2-48 hours to propagate globally. During this time, email delivery may be intermittent.

  • Use DNS checker tools to verify propagation
  • Test sending emails after 24 hours
  • Full propagation may take up to 48 hours

Step 5: Create Email Accounts

Once DNS propagates, create user accounts:

  1. Go to User Management in control panel
  2. Click "Add User" or "Create Account"
  3. Enter name, username, and set password
  4. Assign appropriate storage and permissions

Step 6: Configure Email Clients

Connect your email client using these settings:

  • IMAP Server: imap.xxxx.cn | Port: 993
  • SMTP Server: smtp.xxxx.cn | Port: 465
  • Username: [email protected]
  • Password: [your account password]

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Emails Not Being Delivered

Check that MX records are properly configured. Use online DNS lookup tools to verify. Allow up to 48 hours for propagation.

Emails Going to Spam

Ensure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are properly configured. Ask recipients to whitelist your domain.

Can't Access Webmail

Clear browser cache and cookies. Try a different browser. Ensure DNS has fully propagated.
